Belgian painter (1764 - 1840)
Van Dael trained at the Academy in Antwerp, winning prizes for architecture in 1784 and 1785.
He began his career as a decorator of buildings.
Under the influence of his contemporaries, he turned to flower painting, a speciality in which he achieved great success.
